My Body Your Body Their Body

Centered on works that set body/physicality as their theme, this exhibition will explore the questions of the identity of Asia and the boundaries among people. In doing so, we plan to introduce works that attempt to expand the expression of the body or works that deal with body to define identity. We anticipate a book curation that is revealing of the contemporary artists’ expansive perspectives on the topic of “body,” as well as the tendencies of books from each country dealing with the said topic by bringing together 20-30 titles of art books.

As long as there is a relationship with the topic, it could be a magazine, essay, or textbook, thus selection is not limited to a photobook.

이 전시는 ‘몸’을 표현의 확장 또는 정체성의 주체로 다루는 작업을 중심으로 소개하며 아시아의 아이덴티티 또는 타자와의 경계에 대한 질문을 던진다 . 아시아 각 국가별로 모은 20~30권의 아트북 구성은 주제와 나라별로 책의 특성을 보여준다. 또한 ‘body’라는 주제를 통해 신체, 포트레이트, 패션, 젠더, 섹슈얼리티, 아이덴티티, 커뮤니티 등을 다루는 사진집뿐만 아니라 잡지, 에세이, 이론서 등을 포함한다. 이러한 아트북을 통해 동시대 작가들의 확장된 시선을 발견할 수 있는 북큐레이션을 기대한다.

この展覧会は「身体」の表現を拡張する作品、または「身体」を通してアイデンティティーを定義する作品を中心に紹介することで、アジアのアイデンティティー、または他者との境界について質問を投げかけます。アジアの各国別に集めた20～30冊のアートブックは、テーマとそれぞれの国の特徴を見せています。また、「BODY」というテーマを通して身体、ポートレイト、ジェンダー、セクシュアリティ、アイデンティティー、コミュニティーなどを表現する写真集だけではなく、雑誌、エッセー、理論書などを含みます。このようなアートブックを通して同時代のアーティストらの拡張された視線を発見できるブックキュレーションになることを期待します。
